Horse breaks into funeral and refuses to let its owner be buried!
A Desperate Mission to Save a Friend
However, at the end of the funeral, when everyone was getting ready to carry his master’s coffin to the grave, Hercules became even more reluctant to leave his friend’s side. He neighed so loudly and shook himself as if he didn’t want to move away from his master.
Joseph was to be buried on his own farm, next to a tree he had planted as a child. However, when the family closed the lid of the coffin and four men lifted him up and were heading for the grave, the animal became even more agitated and possessive.
“Hercules, calm down! Stop, Hercules!”
shouted Ivone, her children, and everyone around her, trying to calm the horse down.
But the animal got so upset that they had to lock him in the stable again.
“It was such a struggle, guys. Sorry about this. It’s just that Hercules really loved my dad, so it’s understandable that he’s a bit upset. Let’s get on with the funeral, please,”
said Gil, the eldest son.
However, even though they had locked him in the stable again, when he saw that they were taking his master away, the horse struggled. He banged his legs on the cell door and finally, when he pushed back and ran with all his might towards the gate, he managed to escape.
He was running free around the farm as if he were on a mission.
“No, Hercules, no!”
they shouted.
But he was determined to prevent Joseph from being buried. The animal, neighing and running towards the men carrying his friend’s coffin, came at them with all his might, scaring them into letting the casket fall to the ground.
That’s when something unexpected happened. The horse seemed to be possessed by an inexplicable force and suddenly started banging its legs on the coffin lid, screaming, neighing, and crying as if to say,
“No, you’re not taking my friend!”
“Stop, Hercules!”
the children kept shouting and trying to get the animal to leave his father’s side.
But every time they got close, the horse came at them, threatening them. Joseph’s family and friends were shocked by the scene, not knowing what to make of the horse’s aggressive behavior.
He was practically tearing the lid off the coffin, hitting it hard as if he wanted to free him from that terrible fate. Hercules no longer looked like the same faithful, calm horse he had always been, but an animal possessed by an unparalleled rage.
The chaos that broke out at that moment was almost palpable. People were running in all directions, trying to protect themselves from the animal’s paws.
The Miracle in the Coffin
That strange and shocking scene where Hercules tried to prevent Joseph’s burial left a deep mark on the memory of his family and friends. They all knew that this animal had unconditional loyalty and love for his owner, but they never imagined that this would lead him to act in such an unusual and desperate way.
However, something impossible for anyone there to even think about happened. When the lid finally cracked, the horse pulled a part of it out with its mouth and threw it aside.
It was then that the world of all those present changed in a matter of seconds. A hand started to come out of the coffin as if asking for help to be taken out.
People looked at each other in panic, not knowing what to do in the face of this macabre scene.
“What’s going on? My God, it’s the end of times!”
they said in despair.
But then Joseph’s children threw themselves on top of the coffin, desperately opening it to free their father.
“Did you want to bury me alive, huh?”
said the gentleman in a very weak voice and coughing.
And there he was, very alive. He spoke and breathed with difficulty, as if he had fought hard to survive.
His appearance was pale and worn, but there was a gleam in his eyes that showed he still had a long fight ahead of him.
“Dad, my God, how is this possible?”
the children asked, crying.
Ivone came running.
“Love, my God!”
“Did you think you were going to get rid of me so easily?”
joked Joseph, trying to calm his crying wife.
The people at the farm were completely baffled by what had happened. How could that man have come back from the dead, and how did the horse know?
Hercules neighed and circled him, seeming to be happy again.
“Come here, buddy.”
The horse approached and the old man hugged him.
The Mystery of Lazarus Syndrome
So the family decided to send all the guests home as they needed to take the old man home to rest from all that fuss. It was only thanks to the intervention of Hercules, who refused to let Joseph’s body be buried, that the man was not buried alive.
The faithful horse had sensed something that people didn’t: the presence of Joseph’s life. The same day, his wife and children called in several doctors who examined him after revealing his condition, and they were perplexed.
Nobody understood what had happened, but let’s explain. After a bunch of tests the poor old man had to take to find out why he came back from the dead, they discovered that Joseph had a rare condition called Lazarus Syndrome.
This makes a person look dead but is actually still alive. The condition is very rare, but there are a few registered cases worldwide.
He had to spend a long time recovering from the infection, but soon he was back as strong as ever. His presence on the farm and in the lives of his family and friends was a real blessing.
The story of his resurrection quickly spread throughout the region, becoming a legend about the power of life and the loyalty of animals. The farmer knew that he had lived through an unbelievable experience and that his life would never be the same again.
However, they were grateful for the second chance they had received. Now he could enjoy his children, grandchildren, wife, farm, and especially the friendship of Hercules, his faithful horse, who was the great hero of his story.
