The Betrayal

At that moment, she loved her body and was glad that her appearance was so unusual that it made her stand out among other people. Their relationship was clearly moving towards marriage, and Darcy couldn’t be happier about it.

However, the young woman never got to meet Michael’s parents and was actually confused as to why her boyfriend hadn’t introduced them yet.

“Well, everyone’s got their own thing I guess,”

Darcy thought, trying not to dwell on it.

But then she accidentally overheard a strange video call between Michael and his friend Bill. Of course, Darcy didn’t like to eavesdrop on other people’s conversations, but that time it was an honest accident because Michael forgot to close the door behind him.

At first, there was nothing special about Michael’s conversation with his friend. But a minute later, Darcy heard something that made her feel very uncomfortable.

“And when are you planning on telling her about it?”

Billy asked.

“I don’t know, but soon I guess. But there’s no way we’re getting married,”

The man answered evasively.

“Yeah, you totally surprised me. Actually, I was sure that you wouldn’t be able to date that mountain of a woman even for a week,”

Billy exclaimed admiringly.

“Come on, it’s not that hard, especially for the amount of money that’s at stake,”

Michael replied with a smile.

Standing outside the door, Darcy turned pale.

“What money? What is he talking about?”

The woman thought.

“Well, the deal is a deal. I lost the bet so I’ll pay up this week,”

Billy replied, after which he laughed nastily.

“So that’s what’s going on. They made a bet. He never felt anything for me and never even thought about getting married,”

Darcy thought with tears in her eyes.

Heartbreak and Determination

Only then did the young woman realize that Michael was simply playing her all this time. All he wanted to do was win the bet he made with his friend.

Now Michael’s reluctance to introduce Darcy to his parents made perfect sense. He was never going to marry her; it was all just a ruse, a game played by two awful people.

At that point, Darcy hated herself, her body, her excess weight, and pretty much her whole life. Without waiting for Michael to break up with her, the woman struck first.

She simply packed up her things and left. Tears were flowing down Darcy’s face, burning her cheeks and leaving salty streams on them.

People on the street tried to stay away from her as if she carried a virus of grief and misfortune.

“Who’d want to live with a woman weighing 350 pounds? I probably can’t even have kids,”

Darcy thought sadly.

Having fallen into depression, Darcy started to gain weight even faster, and soon she gained 50 more pounds. Frankly, Darcy didn’t even pretend that she wasn’t trying to eat her way out of her depression.

Everything changed in an instant when the young woman looked at her reflection in the mirror yet again. For some reason, that was the moment when she realized that she needed to change her ways.

The Transformation

Needless to say, getting her act together, coming up with the plan, and starting to implement it was incredibly hard for the young woman. First, Darcy read all the weight loss books she could find.

Then she went on a low-carb diet and started working out every day. The first days of her new routine were exceptionally hard on Darcy.

It was extremely hard to get rid of the extra pounds, so Darcy had to literally exhaust herself exercising at the gym. At some point, it got so hard that the young woman even considered quitting and going back to her old ways.

But then she remembered the conversation Michael had with his friend, and how they laughed at her, and she realized that she couldn’t give up. A month later, the young woman saw her first results when the scales showed that she lost about 20 pounds.

Sure, it wasn’t a lot, but for a woman in Darcy’s position, it was some long-awaited progress. This news encouraged Darcy and made her spend even more time at the gym.

About a year later, the determined young woman had lost about half of her weight, which didn’t go unnoticed by the other employees of the company. Michael was the first one to notice all the changes.

A Happy Ending

He didn’t even suspect that Darcy could look so beautiful. But Darcy was no longer interested in her ex-boyfriend.

Soon a representative of the partner company came to the office for negotiations. It was then that he noticed the young, beautiful woman.

Brandon Stone fell in love with Darcy literally at first sight, and his feelings were actually sincere. Nothing like the relationship Darcy had with Michael.

Of course, the ex-boyfriend tried to get Darcy back, but she let him know in no uncertain terms that it was never going to happen. By changing her appearance, Darcy became more confident and finally got the respect that she always deserved.

Now the beautiful young woman didn’t have to endure contemptuous smiles and was rightfully considered one of the most beautiful employees at the company. Having married Brandon Stone, Darcy found the very happiness that she dreamed of for many, many years.

A year after their wedding, Darcy found out that she was pregnant. Despite the fact that she got morning sickness and often felt dizzy, the labor was surprisingly easy and painless.

Now that Brandon and Darcy had kiddos, there was no doubt that their life would be full of amazing moments they’d be able to reminisce about in their old age, sitting by a fireplace together.
