If only the young people knew what the scoundrel was planning, they would have been more cautious about the people around them. The wedding was fast approaching, and Brandon felt that nothing and no one could stop it. Even his father had given up all attempts to reason with his son and accepted his decision.

5 minutes later, they were already sitting at the cozy table in Mrs. Goodman’s house, drinking chamomile tea with honey. Sarah told her neighbor everything, which brought sympathy to the old woman’s eyes.

Sarah smiled and looked gratefully at the old lady. At that moment, life didn’t seem so bad anymore, and the future inspired hope for a happy outcome.

A New Companion

A month flew by, then another one. Sarah had already grown used to the peaceful life in the small town and even took in an abandoned puppy she found in a ditch filled with rainwater. The little one was struggling to get out, trying to cling to the edge of the solid ground with its paws, but it had almost no strength left.

Sarah picked up the puppy and hurried home holding him close. There, she bathed the little creature and fed him with fresh milk.

“Well there you go, this is much better, isn’t it? What should I call you? How about Teddy? You look so much like a teddy bear,” Sarah thought with a smile.

Since then, she had her own personal guard at home. Teddy was growing quickly, surprising Sarah with his insatiable appetite. By that time, she had been working at the local post office for 2 months. Fortunately, there was an open job she could take.

The Truth Revealed

One evening, a car stopped by Sarah’s house. It was a big SUV driven by a young man. Drawn by Teddy’s barking, Sarah stepped onto the porch and nearly fainted. The unexpected guest turned out to be Brandon Johnson, the father of her babies.
