My Mother Kicked Me Out When I Got Pregnant After My Fiancé’s Funeral. She Told Me My Baby Was Dead. Now A Stranger Just Confessed A Horrific Secret About What Happened That Night. How Can I Ever Forgive Them?
Building a Life Together
By the time they graduated from high school, Ethan and Hannah had already made plans to spend the rest of their lives together and were ready to get married. Realizing that there was no one to help them out financially, the young people decided to find jobs in order to save up some money and rent a house together until they could make it happen.
Their infrequent meetings took place at the home of Margaret Adams, who was always very happy to see Hannah. Ethan was the first one to find a job at a construction store warehouse. Of course, working as a loader didn’t bring him much money, but it was still better than nothing.
It took Hannah a lot more time to find a job she could do. The problem was that most employers didn’t want to hire a recent high school graduate with no work experience or specific skills. But even though it took some time, Hannah did eventually get lucky. The owner of the flower shop on the corner of Park Street was kind enough to give her a chance.
Now that the young couple had some financial independence, they could finally breathe a sigh of relief. Jacqueline Rodriguez never really helped her daughter all that much, but after she got a job, she stopped doing it altogether.
At that point, she was way more interested in Goldie, who found herself a rich boyfriend whom she intended to marry. Therefore, Hannah was forced to resolve her problems on her own, and she did it masterfully. All this time, the young woman couldn’t stop dreaming of her upcoming wedding, which was to take place in a month.
The Tragic Accident
Despite the financial difficulties, Ethan used his first salary to buy himself a used motorcycle so he could get around much easier and wouldn’t have to rely so much on public transportation. Since his battered iron horse was very old, the young man spent more time repairing it than actually riding it.
Unlike most fast riders, Ethan liked to look for the cause of the breakdown and change old parts for new ones. Within a couple of weeks, the engine of this old motorcycle stopped making funny noises and started working like a clock, to the envy of all passersby.
Back then, Hannah couldn’t even suspect how dangerous her fiancé’s seemingly innocent hobby actually was. There’s a good chance that if Ethan hadn’t taken his motorcycle to work that fateful morning, all the tragic events that followed could have been avoided.
Unfortunately, the young man didn’t get further than a mile away from his grandmother’s house when he got into a terrible accident caused by a truck driver who drove into the oncoming lane. The impact of the collision was so strong that only a pile of mangled debris remained from Ethan’s motorcycle, and the young man died on the spot.
Rescuers and paramedics who arrived at the scene were unable to help him. The news of Ethan’s death caught Hannah at the very moment when she was selling flowers to a happy young couple preparing for their wedding. Upon learning of her fiancé’s death, the young woman was so shocked that she actually fainted.
The frightened store owner immediately picked her up and, fearing for her health, drove her to the hospital in his car. The young woman came to her senses only a day later.
“Where’s Ethan? Why isn’t he here with me?” was the first thing she said.
Apparently, the stress she experienced caused temporary amnesia, which must have been her brain’s way of trying to protect the young woman from more distress. But no matter how hard the doctors tried to keep Ethan’s death a secret, the news still reached Hannah even at the hospital.
Needless to say, Hannah was devastated. Losing one’s fiancé a week before their wedding is simply unimaginable. At this time, Margaret Adams was the only person to try to support the young woman who, by the will of evil fate, didn’t even get a chance to put on her wedding dress.
Jacqueline Rodriguez, on the contrary, took the news very calmly and simply kept repeating that God had his own plan for everyone. In fact, she felt a sense of relief now that Hannah would be able to direct her attention to someone more worthy in the eyes of her mother.
